Well, what a fabulous night we had at the HANDS Quiz night, lots of fun, laughter, people and prizes. About 100-110 people came, some had tables of 8-10 consisting of their family and friends and others came individually and made up a table. David once again was our Quiz master extraordinaire and Kayla his magnificent assistant. There were 70 silent auction items to choose from and 15 live auction items, consisting of two gorgeous Teddy bears, wine basket with a $100.00 voucher from Chiera and Sons, Dog basket with lots of goodies, a yummy wine, chocolate and lollies basket, and 2 beautiful quilts made lovingly by Debra Bradtke, to name a few. Ali and Robyn were amazing at selling raffle tickets, with one of the prizes being 2 nights stay at the Cottage on Wonoka Station, situated in the Flinders Ranges. This prize was generously donated by Robyn and Andrew McInnes and the winner was absolutely thrilled. John Verheyen once again gave us a heartfelt presentation to remind everyone there the reason why the HANDS team continues to raise funds to help improve the health and education of children in Timor Leste. Gary and Brendan did an awesome job collecting and counting the money and Natalie was once again the hostess for the night.
Now the total amount raised…. wait for it……. $5,686.00, what an AMAZING effort, and I believe is our best total to date. A BIG THANKYOU to everyone who helped to make the night a huge success, the HANDS Team is sincerely grateful for your attendance and for supporting our projects in Timor Leste.
In 2025, it will be 20 years of HANDS and our fundraising events, I think the first 5 years were a dinner dance and auction then we changed to the Quiz night and auction. It’s an awesome achievement, so we want next year to be BIGGER and BETTER than ever so we look forward to seeing you in 2025.
